LAW FIRM RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION

Talent retention: it’s not about the money

Adultery was a “favourite” for divorce before the no-fault regime. BUT

Family lawyers will tell you that the real reasons were many and varied.

Likewise with quitting, PAY is an easy reason to give in an exit interview.

In a research by Thomson Reuters* 35% of associates leaving cited cash.

But this was behind:-

👉 being underappreciated at 48%

👉 lack of career progress at 35%

…with lack of interest in well-being also being cited at 25%.

In my own experience as a law firm at least one lawyer left citing cash…

BUT only to return a few months later.

Of course you should pay market rates but ethos, career progress and showing you care go a long way to retaining talent.
